The Acheron is a river of Epirus, which crosses over the prefectures of Thesprotia, Ioannina and Preveza. It is one of the most famous rivers in Greece which is distinguished for the beauty of nature and the myths that exist around the name.

In Greek mythology, Acheron was the antechamber of the underworld, where Hermes deliver the souls of the dead to Charon to arrive in Hades.

Nowadays many tourists visiting the river and have the opportunity to explore it, crossing on foot. For sports enthusiasts, there are various activities such as rafting, kayaking, canoeing and horse riding.
